Leader-Post: URSU memorial highlights student issues

A small gathering of people were at the Legislative Building for
a mock memorial service for Stewart "Stu" Dent on Wednesday,
Oct. 12, 2011. It was to bring attention to the lack of
affordability and accessibility to post-secondary education.

It was foggy and chilly at noon Wednesday — the perfect setting for a student memorial.
 
 
 
“We’re really mourning the death of his dreams here,” said URSU President Kent Peterson.
 
 
 
“I took aspects of different people’s lives that I know that have gone through similar experiences,” said URSU Vice-President Paige Kezima. “It’s a kind of a mix of realistic characters and their lives to create this hypothetical character of Stu.”
