Planning is well underway for Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations, however the committee is looking to fundraise more money.
“The fireworks this year, they’re very, very expensive,” said Aaron Ruston, chair of the Moose Jaw Canada Day committee. “With the 150th, they’ve certainly jacked up the prices and everything costs more to have now. So we definitely need to raise some funds.”
The committee is looking to raise $30,000, compared to $21,000 in previous years. The committee gets a small government grant, however most of the funds need to be raised.
