One by one, students came to the table and lit a candle in remembrance.
As each did so, a woman’s name was read from the microphone. Fourteen
candles were lit in memory of the 14 women who were murdered at École
Polytechnique on Dec. 6, 1989 in the Montreal Massacre. One more candle was lit
for hope.
