“Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!”
- Opening lines from Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss
Dr. Seuss was a person many kids of then and now will always find a
way to remember, somehow. The famed American author was born on March 2,
1904 — 110 years ago as Theodore Seuss Geisel — and he wrote some good
lore.
Famous for his rhyming and whimsical tales, Dr. Seuss was a
cornerstone to reading, which never fails. We can learn more from Dr.
Seuss’ great works than just Thing 1 and Thing 2 because hidden in his
texts you’ll find something like a clue.
Oh, the Places You’ll Go tells a story of life and decisions
we’ll make and there will be forks in the road or choices at stake.
Typical for a graduation gift it tells of great quests, but imagination
it sparks — for kids young and old, of ups and downs and oh so curious
remarks.
