Chateau St. Michael will mark 100 years of the facility providing service to the Moose Jaw community this Saturday.
An
afternoon of activities is planned at the personal care home, located
at 525 Seventh Ave. N.E. (formerly St. Anthony's Home), from noon to 4
p.m. The event is open to the public and is free.
“We’re
just inviting the community, friends and family and anyone who wants to
come and celebrate with us,” said Leann Labrie, recreational director
of the home. “We’re just really excited. We’re hoping for a good turnout
and want the community to know that everyone is welcome to come and
celebrate the 100 years we’re quite proud of.”
Festivities
begin with a barbecue at no additional cost. There will be speeches and
two live bands, Band City Band and Olga and Friends. Other activities
include a petting zoo, face painting, rock decorating, a dunk tank and
different lawn games such as bocce ball.
