After years of planning, hard work and generosity, Moose Jaw's new hospital had its grand opening on Nov. 6.
The Government of Saskatchewan first announced that Moose Jaw would be home to a state-of-the-art hospital on Aug. 30, 2011
to replace the aged Moose Jaw Union Hospital. The hospital project was initially announced in 2009.
At a cost of $100 million, the hospital features
private rooms and private washrooms in single-patient rooms. Treatment
rooms
have two doors, one for nurses and doctors and another for
visitors. There is also a special mental health wing in the hospital.
It will also be home to an MRI machine and a hyperbaric chamber in
January 2016.
