The cultural diversity advisory committee is trying to
tackle disrespect and verbal abuse in the workplace.
“People
reported observations and some of these were related to the food service sector
with a large number of cultural minorities employed, many of them recent to the
country,” said Coun. Don Mitchell.
“They have
experienced reactions and verbal abuse in their work situations. So in the
sharing of discussion this is recognized as a workplace issue that we need to
try and monitor and respond to.”
