According to a report from 1980 called Mercury Control Plan For the Thunder Creek Area, there is a notable amount of mercury
pollution in local rivers. “The mercury hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s just been moved,” said citizen Lorne Elkin, who lives in Churchill Park. “This is
a serious matter that kills people, most importantly if you eat fish that have been infected by it.” Read more
